“I found my French classes informative, constructive and very helpful for leaving cert French. Her notes were clear, consise and easy to understand. Her oral preparation was particularly useful. She gives 100% effort in her classes and I have no hesitation in recommending her.” Claire M
“I started going to grinds with my tutor at the start of sixth year and I can’t explain how much my French improved. Her excellent teaching methods helped me through sixth year French. Not only did I learn a lot, I also enjoyed the classes which were all completely focused. I found the oral especially challenging, but because of my tutor I went into the exam completely confident in my own ability ! I got a B1 and I owe this completely to the grinds ! Thanks again.” Katie Mc

“I never found French to be an easy subject. I never found that many mistakes in my work yet I always seemed to struggle to pin down a good grade, especially in the written section. I thought at one stage that I’d never get more than, at most a B2 in any written piece. I found however that this tutor’s notes helped hugely. They were comprehensive and covered a wide range of points across a wide range of topics. However, while the notes on the different opinion pieces were very helpful, I thought that the most useful set of notes were the ones relating to grammar. If you can understand when and how to use the subjunctive or relative pronouns it makes a huge difference and is a lot more effective for scoring marks than just reciting the occasional learnt off phrase. The worksheets explained the concepts very clearly and provided easy to understand examples. I went from getting low B’s in my written pieces to getting 96% in the written section on the day, with full marks for communication in all of my essays. I found the one on one classes also helped enormously with the oral exam. Hearing questions from and speaking to a native French speaker is invaluable for an oral exam as it greatly helps with pronunciation and communication. I went from a B3 in the Christmas oral to an A1 in the real exam. Both the classes and the notes helped massively in preparing for the Leaving Cert and got me an A1 that I never thought I’d get.” Adam M
“I went to my French tutor throughout 6th year once every week, and I really don’t think I would have past the oral without her help. We did a bit of everything but I wanted to concentrate mostly on the oral aspect. I would tell her what I would like to say in French, she would put it in much better French for me and add a key sentence, and then what I found most helpful was that she would record it, so I would go home and just keep listening to the recording which helped me perfect my French accent! We did all the basic topics, and then we would try link in other topics which I wanted to speak about and found very interesting. Her help was amazing and I have to say she is an incredible teacher.” Fionnula K
